The Garden

This Garden is  a place where several species of fruit-trees grow, mainly Mangosteen and Rambhutan among them.  In the area of the garden  are several small houses for people who wish to retreat, to be alone for short or long periods. At the moment there are five such kutis, as they are called by practitioners of meditation. The kutis are modern and well-equipped for a pleasant stay; they are  suitable cabins for developing the conditions which bring about Satipatthana (the foundations of mindfulness).

The Garden is large enough, so that you can go for a walk in it, if you feel like it. As you see from the pictures  there is a pond which is fed by a small ravine. Many different kinds of fish live in that pond. The main building that stands in this pond houses the kitchen and two rooms on one side, and the day-quarters for the monks at the other side. The whole building looks like it was built for the very purpose it serves. Yet, it came  just like that with the Garden, as it was acquired from the previous owner.
